Livery Yard Insurance FAQs

Have a Livery Yard Insurance question for us? Find answers to our frequently asked questions below or contact us for more information.

If you do pony parties or rides, you will need additional insurance. If you do this on your own premises we can add this activity to your yard insurance or if you only do this activity off site then we can do a standalone Pony Party Insurance policy.

The cost of Livery Yard Insurance can vary widely depending on several factors, including the size of the yard, the number of horses and staff, the types of services offered, and the level of cover required. For a bespoke quote, please complete the above enquiry form and a member of our team will be in touch.

SEIB’s Livery Yard Insurance policies can be tailored to cover most equestrian activities. We can include cover for hiring out of your facilities including your arena, cross country course and show jumping paddock. The hire can be for individuals to use for a single hire or for larger groups to hire all the facilities for a camp or event they are running.

If you have other peoples horses stabled or kept on your yard then this would still be classed as a livery yard and the appropriate insurance would be needed.

The minimum insurance most livery yards will need is Public Liability and Care Custody and Control. If you have anyone helping you on the yard with the business then it is a legal requirement to also have Employers’ Liability. Other insurance to consider would also be contents and buildings cover, Legal expenses and Personal Accident cover.

SEIB can cater for most types of yards from private yards to large Equestrian Centres and everything in between including stud farms, competition yards, Riding School Insurance and breaking, training and dealing yards.
