SEARCH FOR A STAR PONY CLUB RIDDEN CHAMPIONSHIP
SEIB Search for a Star have joined forces with the Pony Club to offer a Lead Rein and First Ridden Championship for children 10 and under, plus an open class for the older children that will look for horses and ponies that are suitable for all round Pony Club activities, have good conformation, an excellent way of going and a fabulous temperament.
There will be no jumping. These classes are open to children and young people that meet the Search for a Star criteria and are members of the Pony Club.
Classes are open to any type of horse or pony, that is athletic enough to be an all-rounder but correct enough to be a show horse.
There will be extra awards for the best riders.

CLASS 9
SEIB SEARCH FOR A STAR PONY CLUB RIDDEN LEADING REIN PONY
Qualify for Your Horse Live
Only Open to members of the Pony Club aged 10 and under but over 5 on the date of the YHL Championship.
Riders, owners and handlers must meet the SFAS amateur criteria. Pony must be 128cms or under and meet the Search for a Star Amateur criteria. Snaffle bridles only.
Pony must be over 4 years old.
Lead rein must be attached to the noseband and not the bit and the child should be able to rise to the trot. Judged on conformation, way of going and temperament to be able to take part in Pony Club activities with a young child, pony will not be stripped but will give a show. Lungeing will be allowed if the venue permits, but the pony must only be ridden by the competitor. Handlers of the lead rein pony should be suitably dressed with a hat and suitable footwear, ponies to be plaited unless they are registered mountain and moorland, traditional or native types. Horses and ponies that have been placed in the Pretty Polly Championships at RIHS are eligible to compete in the Pony Club Search for a Star Pony Club classes.
1st placed to qualify for Your Horse Live.
Rosettes for all, placed down to 6th.

CLASS 10
SEIB SEARCH FOR A STAR PONY CLUB RIDDEN FIRST RIDDEN TYPE
Qualify for Your Horse Live
Only Open to members of the Pony Club aged 11 and under but over 6 on the date of the YHL Championship.
Riders and owners must meet the SFAS amateur criteria. Pony must be 138cms or under and meet the Search for a Star Amateur criteria. Pony must be over 4 years old.
Must be ridden independently but will not be asked to canter as a class. Snaffle bridles only. Will be asked to give a set show, ponies will be stripped for conformation. Lungeing will be allowed, if the venue permits, but the pony must only be ridden by the competitor. Ponies to be plaited unless they are registered mountain and moorland, native or traditional types. Horses and ponies that have been placed in the Pretty Polly Championships at RIHS are eligible to compete in the Pony Club Search for a Star Pony Club classes.

CLASS 11
SEIB SEARCH FOR A STAR PONY CLUB RIDDEN OPEN HORSE OR PONY
Qualify for Your Horse Live
Only Open to members of the Pony Club aged over 10m on the date of the YHL Championship.
Riders and owners must meet the SFAS amateur criteria. Open to ponies and horses that meet the Search for a Star Amateur criteria. (Class may be split subject to entries) Horse or pony must be over 4 years old.
Will be asked to give a show, will be stripped for conformation. Lungeing will not be allowed anywhere on the showground. Horses and ponies to be plaited unless they are registered mountain and moorland, native or traditional types.
The animal should be an athletic type capable of doing all round Pony Club activities. The class will be judged on conformation, way of going and temperament. The horse or pony will not be ridden by the judge but the competitor will be asked to give a set show. Open to any type of horse or pony that is athletic enough to be an all-rounder but correct enough to be a show horse. Horses and ponies that have been placed in the Pretty Polly Championships at RIHS are eligible to compete in the Pony Club Search for a Star Pony Club classes.
