SEIB are long-standing supporters of amateur and grassroots competitors. Over the years we have helped offer competition opportunities for everything from SEIB Search for a Star at Horse of the Year Show, through to the SEIB Quadrille championships with British Riding Clubs and the SEIB Novice Winter showjumping championship with its finale on the hallowed turf of the Hickstead International Arena at the Royal International Horse Show.
Below we have listed all of the competitions that SEIB is either running or sponsoring in 2024:
SEIB Search for a Star
A unique showing competition for amateur riders set up, and run by, SEIB since the 1990’s. Search for a Star constantly evolves to meet the needs of amateur showing riders across the country. Its nearly 30 years since the first Search for a Star finals ran at HOYS and in recent years the Your Horse Live Search for a Star finals have become a key goal for amateur riders. Classes cater for a wide range of competitors and include everything from ridden show hunters to in-hand and Pony Club classes.
SEIB Racehorse to Riding Horse
Also run by SEIB, this series was set up in the early 2000’s to provide an opportunity for a second career for racehorses coming out of training. The series has gone from strength to strength and includes a qualifying class in the main arena at the world-famous Burghley Horse Trials. For those lucky enough to qualify, the season finale is held in the main international arena at HOYS.
SEIB Winter Novice Showjumping Championship
This is a British Showjumping competition for novice showjumping horses with qualifiers held across the country through the winter months before the finale, for those lucky enough to qualify, in the main Hickstead International Arena at the Royal International Horse Show in July each year.
SEIB British Riding Clubs Championships
SEIB have supported British Riding Clubs (BRC) events for over 30 years and have recently strengthened this partnership through sponsorship of the SEIB BRC Quadrille, the SEIB BRC Novice Winter Championships, the SEIB BRC Horse Trials Championships and the SEIB BRC Combined Championships. All these competitions are open to members of Riding Clubs affiliated to the BRC and the aim is to further support amateur and grassroots riders and their horses.
SEIB Trailblazers Championships
Aimed at amateur and grassroots competitors, the SEIB Trailblazers Championships provide the chance for everyday riders to compete at a big atmosphere “stay away” show. Riders and their horses compete at low-key qualifying shows in dressage, showjumping and combined training for the chance to compete at the SEIB Trailblazers championships held during the first two weeks of August.
